APPLIED DREAMS

Instead of repeating the Processing workshop, second-year students did an Applied Dream workshop: a fast idea-generation workshop to contribute to an ongoing project on the application of new technologies for point-of-sale in the shoe industry. (The area around Venice is the where many of the top fashion houses have their shoes manufactured.)

The project was a collaboration with H-umus, one of the companies in H-Farm, the digital technologies incubator based in an ex-farm estate near Treviso.

The project, coordinated by the Politecnico Calzaturiero (Shoemakers Technical College), was carried out for ACRIB (Associazione Calzaturiera del Riviera del Brenta), the association of shoe manufacturers of the Riva di Brenta, one of the largest of the Italian Distretti Industriali—collaborative associations of small and medium enterprises co-located geographically.
