THE ELEMENTS OF THE GRAPHIC INTERFACE

The design of the graphics is inspired by the elements of the 17th-18th century: drapes from baroque style and part of the ornamental set of the venetian tradition are combined to build up backgrounds and screens that change the tone throughout the game in order to better involve the player always resuming the early visual tradition of venetian carnival.

The set of the colours is due to the visual identity of Venice: the gold, the black, the dark yellow and the Bordeaux are taken from the historical flag of this city and all of them assemble a severe-like tone representative of the old carnival.

The cover page melts the appearance of a frontispiece with the actual carnival stereotypes: a black simple mask and confetti spread over it. This theme is reprised in the menu layout.

Every screen is drawn like a page, or an old piece of paper, that tells you a story to read and follow in real time with real actions. There’s a “code” for the backgrounds: there are the pages of the story written like an ancient document, there are the pages with specific instruction for the character you’ve got, and the menu is build up like the frontispiece of an old book, personalized every time with the icon of the character.
