User & stakeholders
The users of Madeleine are French-Venetians who leave Venice to work for long periods, for example fabric merchants, sailors, people who trade with the East, businessmen, soldiers, etc. Other users, naturally, are their family and friends.
Other stakeholders could be photographers, who take the pictures uploaded by the users, G-Phone sellers and copyright associations for the music recordings.
Personas
In order to create a believable story for the scenario, we developed three personas connected to each other in particular ways:
- Sophie Clement, 26, is an Italo-French woman who lives in Venice and likes going shopping with friends. She is married to Antoine Tonolo and they have a 5 year old daughter, Claude.
- Antoine Tonolo, 31, is a fabric merchant who lives in Venice but usually travels a lot to the East on business.
- Lin Wai Ming, 23, is a Chinese dancer who lives in Shanghai and travels a lot to perform many shows in the most important theatres of the Europe. She’s Antoine’s mistress.

Goals
The main goal of the service is to let people recall their memories. It is not an archive, nor is it supposed to be functional as we usually think of functionality.
Its purpose is to immerse the user in a suggestive atmosphere allowing him to call back the memories and share them in an unusual way.
The unusual approach to the interface, the strange ambience and the oddness of the items are the particularity of the service, represent ing the incoherence of the human mind.
Criteria for success
The interaction with the application should be functional but, at the same time, unexpected dreamy and engaging.
The user should be at ease in the interface, constantly surprised in an enjoyable way.
