… prototyping

Once focused the concept, we had to verify how the floater does behave when there are waves in our basin. At first sight it is clear that this floater will not surf a lot, because of the waves’ bouncing back, at the opposite end of the basin. We tested two ways of driving the floater: hydraulic and magnetic.

As you can see the water wing works better for a specified width and degree, but nevertheless we found better to use magnetic repulsion in order to pull the floater without running the risk to sink it.

Technical Evolution

The kinetic elements of the user’s experience are controlled by two sub-systems: the wave generator and the invisible magnetic-cart.

inspired by the windmills this wave generator is active whenever we send and receive a message

Under the hood: above here you can see how the floater is driven. The users will see nothing of the mechanics, that will be concealed below the basin.
