Building a soil moisture sensor
We decided not to buy a soil moisture sensor, but to make one by ourselves.
This is the first step to build a soil moisture sensor. The humidity is detected by the Arduino board.
First we used a bath sponge instead of earth. The next step was to use two nails put in the earth in a pot. The principle is the same.

First experiment about plant’s voice
In the first phase we observed a variation of electrical resistance from root to leaf thanks to the micrometer.
In the next phases we tried to connect a potentiometer to the Arduino board to analyze the variations of the values.
Then we connected the plant to the analog pin of the Arduino board and, using Pure Data, converted the values to digital sounds.
