. Concept

Venice lacks a way to promptly inform newcomers, especially young people, about current live music events, Venicelive is a mobile location-based service which updates people about the musical schedule in Venice, allows them to book a ticket, and tells them if there is any anyone else nearby going to the same event.
The service includes physical gathering points to facilitate both orientation and socialization before the events.

Users
The service is addressed to music lovers of all ages, the only skill required being a basic use of mp3-enabled mobile phones.

Stakeholers

Nightlife operators like clubs and music-hall managers, promoters, musicians, music critics working for music magazines: they all can get new opportunities through the service.

Mission

Expand users’ awareness about what’s going on in the city. Provide a two-way channel to the most thrilling live events now ignored or poorly covered by the media. Offer the user new opportunities for socializing with others with similar tastes in music.

Goals

Venicelive allows its users to enter the city’s nightlife without having to plan their moves in advance. It offers them last-minute access even to the most crowded and usually inaccessible events.

Criteria of success

Higher attendance at live music events reported by the media. A stronger community feeling among the participants shown by their feedback through the service itself and through other more conventional channels
