Designing issues
In the first weeks we spent a lot of time in brainstorming ideas because one of the most difficult thing was thinking about an installation that has to be contemporary: 1- a time machine, 2- an ambient installation designed for a unique place; 3- an informative installation. We went around Venice to look for a place that could be perfect for a Time Machine project and once found it, we started brainstorming ideas. We had a lot of ideas, some very philosophical, other of more aesthetic quality. We imaged very complex installations, with a lot of technological devices and visual effects but at the end we summarized all the ideas in a last one that has been the result of many other ideas, also witty and maybe impossible to do for us, but very useful to open the mind.

Technological issues
One of the most important problems has been testing the prototype because we couldn’t have both the projectors that we needed. For this, we tried the installation with a projector and a computer screen but it wasn’t enough because of the light that the projector makes was important to set some visual details (image size and image quality). Another thing is that our computers and network wasn’t enough fast to share realtime data and it created some problems with the computers’ response time.

Programming issues
Although the installation correctly loops, returning to the start point at the end of the experience, the server software cannot manage more than one time the video instance so the image hangs to the empty sotoportego view.
