In the middle of the sotoportego there are two doors that face each other. Onto the south door is to be projected an image of the empty Sotoportego to give the idea of a virtual passage perpendicular to the real passage.
When you reach the doors, this image on door S attracts your attention with a bell sound. As you look it, a sensor (photocells) detects your presence and a videocamera in the north door (N) starts recording you (while watching the door) from behind. A few seconds later the recorded movie is projected back in front of you, on the same door (’time past’). Suddenly the movie dissolves into the previous image and, at the same time, a sound attracts your attention from door N. When you turn, you see, mirror-like, your image, seen from the front (’time present’). A few seconds later your image dissolves like a shadow in the light like when you are getting out of the Sotoportego (’time future’).
