Hi, my name is Ruggero and I come from Genoa, Italy. I am focused on speculation and R&D in our interaction with physical objects and digital media.

EXPERIENCE

CIID Research
During a 3 months internship, I worked on an interactive visualization for MeLa, a EU funded project about museums in the 21 century. Together with Paolo Patelli, I carried out research about placemaking in Amager, a fast-changing area of Copenhagen. (Copenhagen, 2013)

De Simoni Contemporary Art
A gallery focused on young emerging Italian artists. For 3 months I worked as an assistant curator, assistant, press and communication designer. (Genoa, 2010)

Mamawave
Drummer, co-author, co-manager of rock band Mamawave. We published a single and two demos under Pirames International (Milan), a self-produced full-length and four videoclips. We regularly played live in different venues, mostly in Genoa and Milan. (Genoa, 2006-2010)

RECENT WORKS


Waiting before the chat room door

A speculation and an interactive installation revolving around chat rooms and their teenage users in the late Nineties and early Two-thousands. My MA thesis project.


Social City Detector
(w/ Antoni Kaniowski @CIID)
A self-contained unit to visualize geo-located tweets density through audio.
(Sponsored by Intel and presented at the Rome Maker Faire 2013)

Elsewhere (w/ Sabina Begović & Valeria Sanguin)
A ghost story installation connecting an old payphone, your own smartphone and an archive of everyday people’s diaries. A forgotten place. Developed in the Interaction Design Lab.
